Thank you Message from Willie Wildash Immediate Past President RFU
To the Committee and Members, Oakmeadians RFC.
Please thank everyone at the club for the very kind invitation to attend Oakmeadians' 50th Anniversary Annual Dinner for the very warm welcome we both received, and your generous hospitality.
Mary and I very much enjoyed the whole evening and the excellent meal. It was also a privilege to present some of the awards.
It certainly was a memorable rugby occasion. Although the club has had a challenging season on the field, it clearly is in great shape off it because so many of its members were having fun and enjoying themselves at the dinner. I wish that many more rugby clubs were as inclusive as yours. You are setting a great example to others.
On behalf of the Rugby Football Union I should like to thank everybody in your club for helping to promote and develop the game. My theme last year as President of the RFU was very simple: Choose rugby, have fun and make friends for life, and your club is the very epitome of this.
Yours in rugby
Willie Wildash
Immediate Past President RFU
