On Saturday 28th June the Kaiviti Krusaders, comprising of Fijian players based in the UK, won the Wilts Cup at the Bath Charity 7's after defeating Oakmeadians in a close final.
Oakmeadians themselves had 9 Fijian army players in their squad, but were blown away by the Krusaders sheer pace and power. The winners walked away with the £500 prize money, with Oakmeadians taking the £200 runners-up fee, all donated by Wilts Electrical Wholesalers.

In total 40 teams took part in the event, 32 in the men's competition and 8 in the ladies tournament. Teams travelled from all over the UK for the one day event, organised and ran by the Bath Rugby Community Foundation at the University of Bath. Games were played over 5 pitches from 10.00 until 19.00, and a total of 100 games of 7's were played during the tournament. There were approximately 400 players present, and 17 referees from all over the UK.

In the ladies competition, the Pink Ba-Ba's, who included current Wales wing Non Evans, defeated ex-England captain Susie Appleby's West Country Cavaliers Ladies in the Wilts Cup final, that included a large number of other international players. Other ladies teams involved in the competition included Oxford, Camp Hill and Lakenham Hewett ladies, who travelled from Norfolk for the tournament.

In the men's Plate competition, sponsored by Blackthorn cider, the Bath-based Smashtown Cavaliers put on a superb performance in the knock-out stages to finally overcome a strong Withem's Elves outfit from London in a tense final. In the ladies plate competition, also backed by Blackthorn, a strong Oakmeadians ladies team defeated the Pink Ewes to win the silverware.

The men's Player of the Tournament went to Oakmeadians' Fijian winger 'Bally' after his excellent try-scoring performances throughout the day. Current England prop Rochelle Clarke won the ladies Player of the Tournament award. Both awards were selected by the day's referees, and were sponsored by Havaianas flip-flops.
