Oakmeadians Win RFU Technology Award

Bournemouth Oakmeadians RFC were honoured with their President’s XV Award for Technology award, which has been awarded for the the most innovative use of ideas to meet the Community Rugby themes of More People, Better Places, Access for All and Enjoyment.

On Friday May 16th Rugby Football Union immediate past President Bob Rogers presented the club with the award of £500 and the trophy at the end of season dinner dance.

Oakmeadians RFC have been recognised because they created their own website as a hub communicating with members as well as streaming video and sharing coaching resources. An overhead projector has also allowed them to watch big games, analyse match and training footage and enhance the club’s quiz and social evenings.

The awards were decided by a panel of judges consisting of RFU President Bob Taylor, Senior Vice President Brian Williams, Junior Vice President John Owen, Rogers, RFUW President Gill Burns, England’s most capped player Jason Leonard and Rugby World Editor Paul Morgan.
