Weymouth Beach Festival

Congratulations to all the U16 players, parent and colt for, not only winning, but for also representing the Oaks the day after the dinner dance but also for keeping up our tradition of doing well in these tournaments.
13 hardy teams braved the inclement weather at Weymouth seafront on Saturday May 17th and battled it out on the beach to see who would be the first beach champions of the season.
Purple Sharks (Weymouth RFC) took the cup in a close game against Valley Commando’s (Ebb Vale RFC), Tom’s Tornados (Weymouth RFC) won the Plate against RTB Steelers (Ebb Vale RFC) and Double O Podge (Oakmeadians RFC) beat another Weymouth club side, Hoxly Gone to get his van, in the bowl competition.
In co-operation with Weymouth seafront team and the Rugby Football Union, Weymouth RFC organised the beach festival for the sixth year running.
“This is a great opportunity for our club to get together at the end of the season and promote the values of rugby away from our clubhouse,” said Chris Davies, Weymouth RFC Club Secretary.
The RFU will be organising over 30 beach festivals this summer in partnership with rugby clubs, councils and other local partners.
